Deluxe 920 Magazine

Being an emerging designer, I was asked to give my advice in a remodeling article for the Home issue of Deluxe 920 Magazine. I feel very honored. Thanks Rachel!

Project Details

Time Schedule: July 2, 2007 - October 9, 2007

This extraordinary 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath (1700+ sq. ft.) condo represents the best of modern living and design. It includes a large kitchen with a 6' snack bar overlooking the living room, a large dining room off the living room, laundry room, and half bath on the lower level. The upper level has 3 nice size bedrooms with a master suite, each of the 2 bathrooms has its own linen closet. Distinctive details include bamboo floors throughout, European tile, custom steel staircase railing, European style cabinetry, solid surface countertops, custom tiled 4’ shower with rain shower head, and more. Each room includes recessed lights with dimmers in the living room, dining room, and bedrooms.

Before and After Photos (Kitchen)

Extended kitchen one foot into hallway and living room. Removed wall between kitchen and living room and added 6 foot snack bar overlooking living room. Extended soffit over cabinets and added a soffit above the snack bar. Redirected heat runs. Added 4” recessed lighting and pendant lights over snack bar.

Tiled over the brick fireplace and replaced fireplace door. Replaced tile floor with bamboo flooring. Added recessed lighting.

Removed half wall between the set of stairs. Removed runner along stairs. Replaced with custom painted steel railing.

Before and After Photos (Master Bathroom)

Removed door between master bathroom and 2nd bathroom and enclosed area to create separate bathrooms. Extended bathroom 1 foot into 2nd bathroom to create additional space. Added 4 foot custom tiled shower, linen, and commode.

Removed wall between powder room and bathroom. Removed door between 2nd bathroom and master bathroom and enclosed area to create separate bathrooms. Repositioned commode to create open layout.
